Volunteers form the backbone of many Guide and Scout Centres. This enables the centres to keep down operating costs, while giving members of the movements chance to carry out service projects towards their awards. Currently we rely on service weekends a couple of times a year, we would like to expand this so that eventually a 'service team' is here on a rota basis covering every or most  weekends throughout the year. Jobs will be wide and varied, but will depend on the age/ability of the team on duty. We also require 'voluntary wardens' who will in essence be 'the smiling face' of Guy's Farm. Again, we will be looking to build up a team on a rota basis to cover most/all weekends from early March to the end of November. Dates for Service Weekends for 2007 13 - 15 April 11 - 13 May 8 - 10 June 6 - 8 July 13 - 15 July 10 - 12 August 31 August - 2 September 5 - 7 October 9 - 11 November
If you would like to volunteer to do a weekend and none of these dates are suitable for your unit, please call for alternatives. If your unit, etc would like to volunteer to fill one (or more) of these weekends please call the centre.
